Learn how to make the best keto croutons from scratch that use this 90 second bread as a base. Ready in just 30 minutes, use them for salads, soups, chili, stuffing, casseroles, or grind them up in a food processor to make keto bread crumbs.

You can also use any leftover bread, such as almond flour bread or egg-free keto bread. Just toss the cubed bread with olive oil and spices, then bake until crunchy on the outside.

Are Croutons Keto-Friendly?

No, regular croutons are not keto-friendly because they are made with wheat flour and other ingredients that are not good for a keto diet.

But fortunately, this recipe for keto croutons is made from naturally low-carb ingredients and tastes exactly like the regular one but with fewer carbs.

Keto Croutons Ingredients

I love the recipe for low carb alternative to croutons because it requires only a few easy ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. Here is everything you will need:

For The Bread

  • Eggs – help to bind everything together. Use large room temperature eggs to avoid that eggy smell and taste.
  • Almond Flour – This is one of my favorite low-carb flours, especially for bread. For this recipe, make sure that you are using super fine blanched almond flour.
  • Baking Powder – gives a fluffy wheat-like texture.
  • Butter – for the best flavor.

For the Coating

  • Olive Oil – you can also use melted unsabutter
  • Garlic – use fresh garlic to give these croutons an intense flavor.
  • Dried Herbs – feel free to use your favorite dried herbs like oregano, thyme, or parsley.
