Ingredients For These Keto Chicken Meatballs
The best thing? You can make delicious Keto Meatballs for the week with less than 20 minutes of prep, using just a few classic ingredients. Of course, you can add spices and flavors as you like, but I used easy to find ingredients that most of you have in the kitchen.
- Ground Chicken- Choose 93-96% lean ground chicken when making meatballs. Substitute with ground turkey or chicken thighs.
- Egg- eggs are used to bind all the ingredients. A large one is required for this recipe.
- Parmesan cheese- will taste so much better if you grate it by yourself at home. The saltiness and the rich flavor that parmesan adds it’s incredible.
- Almond flour- used to replace the panko bread crumbs and keep this recipe keto friendly.
- Olive oil- keeps the meatballs tender and moist.
- Garlic- fresh is the best, either you grate or mince it.
- Salt- no recipe without salt; this ingredient highlights all tastes.
- Peppe- you can skip this ingredient if you are not a fan of spicy taste.
- Italian seasoning- one of my favorite seasonings containing many herbs and tastes extremely delicious on almost everything. But you can easily use your favorite one.
- Cooking Spray- to coat the baking tray to prevent the meatballs from sticking to the bottom.
- Parsely – use fresh parsley to sprinkle over the meatballs after they are ready.
Keep the Gluten-Free Chicken Meatballs Super Moist
- Don’t skip the olive oil, it helps the lean meat stay moist and tender.
- Don’t overmix the mixture, or else the meatballs will harden when baking.
- Try not to overbake the meatballs. You’ll know they’re ready once the tips are golden.
How To Make Delicious Keto Chicken Meatballs
These healthy keto chicken meatballs without breadcrumbs are extremely easy to make by following some easy steps.
- Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven 400F/ 200C and grease a baking tray with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
- Make the meatball mixture: In a large bowl, mix together ground chicken, egg, parmesan cheese, olive oil, and seasonings.
- Form meatballs: The meat mixture is now ready to be formed into balls. Roll each piece of meat into a ball (you can also use a small cookie scoop for this), and place them on the prepared tray.
- Bake the chicken meatballs until golden brown on top for about 20 minutes.
Recipe Variations
- You can add some shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese to the mixture.
- Add some crumbled bacon to the mix for an extra flavor.
- For spicy lovers, add some chili flakes or a splash of hot sauce.
- Sprinkle some freshly grated parmesan after baking.
- You can add some grated zucchini or spinach to the mixture.
- The great idea is to make them stuffed meatballs by adding a piece of mozzarella in the middle of the meatballs. Trust me; they will be so delicious.
- Use basil leaves instead of parsley.
Tips For Making The Best Keto Chicken Meatballs
- Wet your hands with cold water before shaping the meatballs. This way, they will not stick to their hands during the process. You may need to do this several times if you make a double or triple batch of meatballs.
- Fresh herbs, such as parsley make a huge difference instead of dried ones.
- Make sure that you don’t overbake chicken meatballs, or else they will become dry and crumbly.
- If you want the meatballs to look different, you can also give them sesame seeds.
- You can make these meatballs with ground turkey instead of ground chicken. The cooking time will not change.
Can I Make Keto Meatballs In An Air Fryer?
Sure, prepare the meatballs mixture just like I did in this recipe, roll the meatballs, put them in the air fryer, and bake for about 15 minutes.
Can I Make Ahead This Recipe?
Sure, this is a great thing about this recipe. All you have to do is make the mixture just like I did, then put the meatballs on a baking tray and freeze them. Then transfer frozen meatballs to a freezer bag and store them in the freezer for up to two months.
Fried Chicken Meatballs
To fry chicken meatballs, add 1-2 cups of cooking oil to a medium skillet. Once the oil is hot, cook the meatballs in batches until completely cooked through.
Serving Suggestions For These Chicken Meatballs
When they are ready, I like to eat some of them fresh and hot as they are, but there are many other options for serving them:
- Add some cauliflower rice or cauliflower mashed potatoes near them.
- You can eat them in your favorite dipping sauce.
- Make a low-carb tomato sauce and pour over the meatballs.
How Can I Store These Delicious Chicken Meatballs
- Fridge: you can store the meatballs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.
- Freeze: these meatballs can also be frozen for up to two months, making them one of my favorite recipes that can be made ahead of time.
Reheating Instructions
- When you want to eat the meatballs, put them on a baking tray and spray each meatball with some cooking spray. Then reheat in the oven for about five minutes at 300F.
- If they are frozen, put them on a baking tray and let them in the oven for about 20 minutes. And with 5 minutes before they are ready, spray some cooking spray over them.

This looks delicious. However, i was thinking to substitute parmesan cheese with zuccini since Iโm intolerant to dairy. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks
You can use almond flour instead.
