Is Bread Keto?

No, regular bread is not keto-friendly because it’s usually high in carbs and made with refined flours that don’t fit into a low-carb lifestyle. A single slice of traditional white bread contains over 15 grams of carbs, according to the USDA, which is too much if you’re trying to stay in ketosis.

But the good news is, you can still enjoy bread on keto! Just make your own low-carb bread using ingredients like almond flourcoconut floureggs, and baking powder. These simple swaps let you enjoy a keto bread alternativethat’s both delicious and easy to make at home.

90 Second Keto Bread Ingredients

To make this quick and easy keto microwave bread, you’ll need just a few basic low-carb ingredients:

  • Coconut flour or almond flour – Both are great keto flour alternatives. Choose your favorite based on taste or what you have on hand.
  • Butter – Gives the bread a rich, buttery flavor. Swap with ghee or coconut oil if you need a dairy-free option.
  • Parmesan or cheddar cheese – Adds extra flavor and helps with structure.
  • Egg – Binds everything together. Use room temperature eggs to avoid that strong eggy flavor.
  • Heavy cream – Adds moisture and richness.
  • Baking powder – Makes the bread rise and keeps it soft and fluffy. Make sure it’s fresh!
  • Pinch of salt – Balances the flavors.
