The Best Egg-Free High Protein Keto Bread 3

Bread is one of those foods that are very hard to give up in keto (along with cookies and cake). You can find more low carb bread recipes on this blog, including this 90 seconds bread with almond flour or coconut flour.

Well, it’s not impossible to enjoy toast for breakfast or a sandwich for lunch with this fabulous keto bread recipe. Compared to the traditional bread, my bread is incredibly low in carbs and made from nutrient-dense ingredients.

Most keto bread recipes on the internet require tons of eggs (at least 5), taste extremely eggy and you can’t even slice it.

That’s why I want to share with you a fantastic keto bread with almond flour, whey protein, and xanthan gum. These three ingredients together are like magic and make a loaf of bread that’s easy to slice, tasty and super fluffy.

Plus, it takes only 5 minutes to whip up and around 25 minutes to bake. Extremely easy, right?

Watch our step-by-step video to see how easy it’s to make the best keto white bread:

Is Bread Keto?

Most bread you buy at the store, no matter if it’s white or whole-grain it’s not keto-friendly.

How to Make the Best Keto Bread?

This keto bread is super easy to make, and all you have to do is to combine all the ingredients in a bowl, transfer it to a baking loaf pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes.

Baking in a keto diet seems challenging for so many people because it involves switching to different ingredients such as gluten-free nut flours, healthy fats, binders (xanthan gum), and other low carb ingredients that will help you make bread without wheat flour.

I experimented with tons of different recipes for keto bread, and I’ve been so disappointed for wasting expensive ingredients until I finally found a recipe that’s the BEST KETO BREAD EVER!

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F / 190°C.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients.
  3. Slowly pour the warm water over the almond flour mixture and stir well until all the ingredients are well incorporated. Add the melted butter and mix well.
  4. Pour into a 9*5 inch loaf tin lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the bread looks golden and a skewer comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool down before slicing, and enjoy!

Can I Use Coconut Flour Instead of Almond Flour?

In this particular recipe, it’s essential to use the ingredients I’m suggesting. Do not try to make any substitutions. All the ingredients are important, especially the protein powder and xanthan gum. While this might work with coconut flour instead of almond flour, I haven’t tested it, yet!

What Kind of Protein Powder Should I Use In the Keto Bread?

To make high-protein, low carb bread, you have to use Unflavored Whey Protein Isolate. The protein helps replicate the texture of bread without, and it’s used instead of the gluten that’s usually found in wheat flour.

Here are a few brands of protein powders you can use to make this low carb bread:

  • Impact Whey Protein Isolate from MyProtein (This is the brand I used in this recipe)
  • Isopure Low Carb Protein Powder, 100% Whey Protein Isolate

Important: Do not use soy isolate or flavored protein powder!

How Many Servings Are In This Low Carb Bread?

This bread makes 14 slices and the nutrition facts listed are for one slice. You can use as many slices as you want as your serving size.

Joanna~ I just made this excellent recipe….and we had a slice for lunch. Delicious! I toasted mine and spread with peanut butter. My husband had his with olive tapenade and loved it!
I can’t seem to find the recipe listed in My Fitness Pal. I attempted to import it from your website, but the nutritional values don’t match. I want to share this on my keto blog but hesitate since I can’t show the macros, etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I haven’t tried it so I’m not sure if that would work. What’s the taste of hemp protein isolate?

This is a game changer! I love this bread and no egg flavor! I’ve spit out more than one keto bread because it tasted like spongy eggs. I’m curious though if you’ve tried to turn this into something sweet and how that might change measurements. Any advice? It just reminded me so much of pound cake in consistency and appearance.

Will any other type of protein powder work besides whey? I cannot have any casein/dairy but I would like to try to make this bread. How about unflavored bone broth protein powder….do you think it would work?

Hello, I was wondering if the almond flour is superfine? I only have superfine almond flour. Do I need a more course flour? Also, will NOW Whey Protein Isolate brand work?

OMG this was absolutely amazing. I made it during lunchtime yesterday, took me very little time. And more than half of the loaf is gone by next day lunchtime 🙂
But not feeling guilty at all. I am not GF or keto, but I work out and run a lot, and I was looking for high protein bread like forever! Thank you!
Something I was wondering about is that possible to add any flavor to it like bread flowering concentrates? Any sweetness (aside from sugar)? more seeds (I added chia seeds and sunflower seeds just very little so see what will happen).
